ASLACKBY & LAUGHTON PARISH COUNCIL
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AT ASLACKBY VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY 24TH MARCH 2025 COMMENCING AT 7 PM.
In attendance:
Cllrs Atkinson, Carr-Bilas, Dodds, Fairhead, Miller, Roberts
District Cllr R Dixon-Warren and 4 members of the public were also in attendance.

Public Forum: Cllr Roberts welcomed everyone to the meeting. |

Opening of Meeting: Cllr Roberts opened meeting proper at 7.34 pm. |

To agree Minutes of Parish Council Meeting held on 24th February 2025: All in Agreement. |

Matters Arising from above minutes: Bird Scarers still going off in middle of night (GA) will have a word with individual. Link re signage!! Cllr Roberts will get proper quote through for 24th March. Cones and Signs to advise people re Flooding! Lleylandi Hedge (PC) – Cllr Roberts will speak with Cllr Hill – couple of large branches still need addressing. Conservation Officer – talking to District re proposal to extend conservation area Aslackby up to Bay House Kirkby Underwood Road – Cllr Dodds has been more building inside Conservation Area in Aslackby than outside. |

Finance: Payments approved for the following - Parish Clerk Salary – March - £218.91 per month covering April 24 to April 25. Agreement for payment to be made re use of Village Hall for PC meetings – £185.00 Up to date spreadsheet circulated to Councillors.

Storage of Sand and Sand Bags: Cllr Dodds will need both sand and bags. Kieran does not have any bags. Colin – suggest have made up so that can be used straight away. SKDC – look into MH idea!! |

Planning: No new applications. |

Highways: Dangerous driving in the village – reducing the speed limit to 20mph? |

Neighbourhood Watch: No update received from Police.
Event in village, some felt threatened, rang 999 Police came out! Trailer left on lawn (base of caravan) lawn is cut by District Council – eyesore!! For surrounding residents – can we notify SKDC to request them to get moved as on Council land, shouldn’t be there?
Council Garages – door broken off and sits at side of resident’s garage – email to be sent to Cllr Dixon-Warren. |

Cemetery: New regulations – need to contact Parish Clerk in first instance - Brian still has all the forms. Does the PC want ownership? |

AOB: Skip – get for Spring cleanout i.e. date agreed Saturday 12th April from 8 am to 12 noon – Cllr Roberts will do signage for letter boxes. Parish Clerk to order Skip. |

To resolve whether the council move into closed session: No requirement to go into Closed Session. |

Any Matters for general discussion or inclusion in next Agenda: Warning signs regarding flooding – DANGER FLOODING – ROAD AHEAD CLOSED or FLOODING ROAD AHEAD CLOSED!! Cllr Dodds will get bags and let Cllrs know |

Date of next Meeting: 12th May 2024 – Annual Meetings commencing at 7pm. Apologies received in advance from Cllr Carr-bilas unable to attend May meetings. Meeting closed at 8.21 pm.
