ASLACKBY & LAUGHTON PARISH COUNCIL
MINUTES OF PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT ASLACKBY VILLAGE HALL ON MONDAY 8TH APRIL 2024 COMMENCING AT 7 PM.
In attendance: Cllrs Atkinson, Carr-bilas, Fairhead, Leighton, Miller, Roberts. District Cllr R Dixon-Warren and 1 member of the public was also in attendance.
1. Public Forum:
Resident updated on dangerous dog issue (Rottweiler) should have a muzzle on it when it goes out for a walk– individual had to have 36 stitches – people need to be aware, stay clear of dog.
2. Opening of Meeting: Meeting proper opened at 7.10 pm - Cllr Roberts welcomed everyone to the meeting.
Cllr Fairhead (contact details etc on old website) – Parish Clerk to check with Peter Langford!
Parish Clerk to check for old minutes etc.
Defibrillator – new pads fitted.
Grass SL Engineering has been cut this week but not cut outside Ivy Cottage – now cut verges opposite house (before Highland House). Parish Clerk to call BDG requesting the come out and do a walk around with Cllrs (who may be available).
3. Apologies for Absence: Cllr Dodds, County Cllr M Hill.

5. County Councillor: Update on trees see below.
District Councillor: Nothing to report – happy to take questions.
PCSO activity in Aveland Close still being picked up.

Authorisation of payments presented by Parish Clerk:
Parish Clerk salary (March) – £218.91.
Wave (Anglian Water) – £15.54
Zurich Insurance – £214.00
Aslackby Village Hall (Hire 2023/24) – £130.00
9. Parish Clerk Update:
Accounts for end of financial year April 2023 to March 2024 to be passed to auditor.

11. Flooding Issue (re Changes to Dyke in field above property):
12. Planning – new Planning Applications: None.
13. Consultation Event (review): Awaiting confirmation of a new date.
14. Highways: None.
14a Trees: Cllr Hill has spoken to highway’s regarding the overgrown hedge on Temple Road. They are now content for the hedge to remain but trimmed well back to allow 16 foot road clearance.
14b Car Parking: Nothing new to report.
15. Neighbourhood Watch: Lots of Police activity – big Police presence – not going on Facebook – Cllr Dixon-Warren will see what he can find out.
16. Cemetery: Maintenance figure re (Lionel) cost for the year?
17. Community Garden: Nothing mentioned as yet – remove from agenda.

Cllr Roberts – advised in discussion with HMRC re contract/job description etc for Clerk to ensure the PC are meeting all correct criteria etc.
19. To resolve whether the council move into closed session: No requirement.

None - the meeting closed at 8.03 pm.
21. Date and time of next meeting to be agreed: 21st May 2024 (Annual Meetings plus normal meeting) 2024 commencing at 6 pm in the Village Hall.
